Ishida Mitsunari was the retainer and right-hand man of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. He server Toyotomi Hideyoshi who assisted him in his conquest of Japan till its unification.
Although Mitsunari didn't had fighting and martial skills, but Hideyoshi were made to say 'Mitsunari were most wise persons in japan'. He demonstrated the capability in domestic politics. After Toyotomi Hideyoshi passed, he and other regional lords became guardians of Hideyoshi's son Hideyori. The peace didn't last long,the Japan splits up again. The battle of Sekigahara has been fought in October 21,1600, between two forces: Ishida Mitsunari leading the Western Army and Tokugawa Ieyasu leading the Eastern army. the two forces had a long fight that lasted a few hours with Ishida Army having the advantage, but in the end Tokugawa Ieyasu has turned the table, succesfuly convinced Kobayakawa Hideiaki to defect. The forces of Ishida has been routed, with Mitsunari escaping for days, but in the end he has been captured and executed by his ex comrade,Fukushima Masanori, the battle of Sekigahara ended with Tokugawa Ieyasu as the ultimate winner and the man who will unify Japan for ages and generation to come.
